Sehr verbreitete österreichische Rebsorte, die mit Ausnahme der Steiermark überall zu finden ist. Die daraus gewonnenen trockenen Weißweine sind säurebetont und stahlig. Schmeckt am besten im Heurigen. In einigen Anbauregionen werden hervorragende Qualitäten erzielt (Wachau, Kremstal..).
